Head of Data Platform

Celona, founded in 2019, is an early stage innovator on a mission to bring reliable and intelligent private LTE/5G wireless networks to Enterprises.  Our solution combines the power of 5G radio technology, edge computing, and machine learning to deploy a zero-touch private wireless network that seamlessly integrates with an existing enterprise network over the high-speed CBRS spectrum. 

Celona is seeking a Head of Data Platform, who will oversee data engineering, machine learning, dashboards, insights, driving innovation through data and supporting the Celona’s development of the first enterprise 5G LAN.


  • Work with large volumes of data; writing pipelines to extract and manipulate large datasets. 
  • Work closely with data scientists to automate different machine learning workflows and support data infrastructure requirements. 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers. 
  • Work closely with team members, product, DevOps, support, customer success, and other teams. 
  • Be a self-driven individual contributor and strive to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 


You will be an ideal candidate if you have:

  • Excellent coding skills with a good understanding of large-scale architecture and design patterns. 
  • Strong experience with Big Data engineering. 
  • Experience with data pipelines, Kafka and, Cassandra or Druid. 
  • Experience in a modern programming language, preferably Java, Go OR Python. 
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (especially Redis, Mongo). 
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.  
  • Experience working with and testing distributed systems. 
  • Experience working with systems in production. 
  • Strong team player with a “can do” attitude, and the flexibility to jump in wherever needed.
