  • Collaboration will deliver pre-integrated, enterprise-grade private 5G solutions with multi-band support.
  • Open RAN solution for private 5G enables access to the open RAN radio ecosystem, expanding spectrum bands and radio types globally.
  • Planned co-development will accelerate innovation and bring future-proof connectivity to enterprise IoT and mission-critical use cases.

TOKYO and Campbell, California - April 24, 2026 - Rakuten Symphony, Inc. and Celona, Inc., today announced plans to collaborate on end-to-end open RAN-based private 5G solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of large- and medium-sized enterprises. Designed on O-RAN specifications, the solutions will provide radio flexibility and work across spectrum bands, giving enterprises flexibility while increasing efficiency, reducing total cost of ownership and accelerating return on investment.

The collaboration will bring together Rakuten Symphony’s compact enterprise-scale cloud-native 5G open RAN infrastructure with Celona’s 5G LAN enterprise platform. The solution will be pre-integrated, enabling faster, more seamless deployments across a wide range of industries where reliable, high-performance connectivity is critical to enabling automation, safety, and operational efficiency. Sectors include global logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, ports, mining and more. With a unified platform that monitors, detects and resolves issues proactively, the joint solution will minimize downtime risk while enabling seamless expansion without re-architecting the network.

“Enterprises are under pressure to modernize operations while managing complexity across fragmented network environments,” said Anirban (Oni) Chakravartti, SVP and Global Head of Sales, Enterprise Business at Rakuten Symphony. “By collaborating with Celona, we will be removing deployment barriers to enable flexibility, and future-proofing networks to support evolving IoT and mission-critical use cases, enabling enterprises to stay focused on their core operations.”

Rakuten Symphony and Celona will deliver a fully managed, end-to-end open RAN-based private 5G offering designed to support Internet of Things (IoT)-driven use cases and mission-critical applications, helping enterprises modernize operations, unlock new efficiencies and lower costs. Celona will lead customer deployments and ongoing services and delivery through its established partner ecosystem, simplifying adoption for enterprises worldwide.

“We've demonstrated the power of enterprise-native private 5G across some of the world's most complex industrial operations,” said Puneet Shetty, SVP of Product and Field Engineering at Celona. “Our collaboration with Rakuten Symphony and their open RAN platform will extend access to a far broader set of critical industries, giving large-scale, asset-intensive organizations a path to private 5G that’s open, interoperable, and ready to support AI-enabled automation that will define their future.”

The joint solution will support multiple radio unit (RU) vendors, providing enterprise customers with flexibility and choice based on their specific market requirements and use cases. It will be designed to operate across multiple spectrum bands, ensuring adaptability across regions and deployment environments.
